Slipknot to Tour with A Day To Remember, Underoath, Code Orange

Photo via Roadrunner Records Alright so THIS is going to be wild. Slipknot have just announced a nationwide headlining tour that features A DAY TO REMEMBER, UNDEROATH, and Code Orange. These shows are guaranteed to be massive and I love the lineup for it. I feel like if you like one band, you like all of them and now with Slipknot back, it makes sense for them to tour with bands like ADTR and UO. Especially since they are massive fans (like us) of Slipknot; I remember years ago Underoath actually dressed on stage as Slipknot during one of their… Read more »

My Chemical Romance Announce Their First Tour In Nine Years

My Chemical Romance has announced their first tour in 9 years. Rumors of a reunion began over the summer of 2019 when Joe Jonas, Jonas Brother, and eyebrow aficionado, mentioned in an interview that he overheard MCR rehearsing. The internet was abuzz until Frank Iero, rhythm guitarist for the group, posted a comically aggressive rebuttal insinuating Jonas’ statement made as much sense as The Ramones getting back together.  Fast forward to October 31, 2019, when the band announced a reunion show at the landmark Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles. The December 20, sold-out show set fans daydreaming for a… Read more »

Calling all Mayday Parade fans! Frontman Derek Sanders is releasing his first solo EP on Valentine’s Day and we’re already in love after hearing one song.  We all know that Mayday Parade loves a good cover song—they recently finished an entire tour built around covers—so it’s not surprising that Sanders chose to reimagine some of his favorite songs for his first EP, My Rock and Roll Heart. And it’s also not surprising that he does an incredible job. The first single, a heartbreaking rendition of Jimmy Eat World’s “A Praise Chorus”, will get you all up in your feels in… Read more »

On Being Kind and Forever Emo: A Conversation with Mayday Parade

A lot can change in ten years: personalities, tastes, relationships. For Mayday Parade the last ten years have been a chance to grow as a band, explore new ways to entertain, and to connect with their fans. Which is why—almost exactly a decade after seeing them live for the first time—I’m sitting on a tour bus in Chicago, chatting with frontman Derek Sanders. We’re at the back of the bus. On one side of Sanders, guitarist Brooks Betts is fiddling around on a laptop, on the other, bassist Jeremy Lenzo pre-signs a stack of Sunnyland CDs. The window is cracked… Read more »

News Worthy Round-Up

SNL Hires Then Fires Bigot Disguised As A Comedian SNL has been accused of partaking in “cancel culture” for firing a newly hired cast member, Shane Gillis, after videos of racist conversations and bigoted podcasts came to light. In these, Gillis and another less than memorable guy hold conversations where they both contribute their racist and homophobic ideas. The unimpressive performer issued an arrogant non-apology and has been defended by people clamoring to combat cancel culture. All attempts to defend the racist remarks are moot as they were not taken from jokes rather they are clips of boring conversations. Also,… Read more »
