You love premieres, and we love bringing them to you—so today is a good day for both of us. Delaware’s alternative pop quartet, Stallions, have delivered their debut EP One Track Mind a day early, only on idobi.com.
Today, we’re bringing you a premiere from Dallas, TX’s This Gravity; a lyric video for the track “Hard To Get”.
TheBillboardChart Needs a Streaming Makeover With All Time Low’s number one album debut debunked by the new Billboard standard, many people in our scene posed the question if we need to rethink the way Billboard included streaming into it’s tallies. Right now, every 1,500 streams of a song off an album = 1 album sale. Thomas Nassiff of Absolutepunk wrote a wonderful short piece on the matter. In my opinion, it’s crap. A successful single does not an album make. If that were true, Vanilla Ice would have probably been much more successful and have never gotten arrested for stealing.… Read more »
This Saturday marks the beginning of the Almost Famous tour. The Big Time, An Honest Year, and The Resolution will be rocking stages as the tour winds its way from Georgia, to Michigan, to New York, with plenty of stops in between.
Forget everything you know about Danny Worsnop. With his new project, We Are Harlot, the group resurrects classic rock in their debut album, creating a style that’s rock ‘n’ roll meets 80s hair metal with a dose of alternative country rock.
Thursday, March 19th I flew into South by Southwest this afternoon. Tonight, I strode 6th Street. amid the scene here in Austin. I felt a tension between, and within, the musicians, attendees, and the city. The dichotomy is an inclination toward indie values, opposed by the gravitation of commercialism. Attack On Titan itself has become a cult-classic turned mainstream anime phenomenon that I’ve been working on for two years. But it’s the most heart-wrenching, tear-inducing, make a grown man cry openly without embarrassment anime you will ever see–it’s so worth taking a peek at the live… Read more »
Kevin Lyman Did a TED Talk, So Listen Up I’ve been waiting for this for a very long time: Kevin Lyman gave a speech at TedxCPP and it was fantastic. The talk covered a bit of his early years and how he got into touring, but on a much more important note, he talked about the dangers that threaten festival culture. He discussed the different age groups and life changes. It’s a wonderful speech for people who are getting too old for things like Warped Tour and Cochella. Basically, you get to see, again, why Kevin Lyman is so fan-freaking-tastic.… Read more »
