All 29 minutes and eight songs of the Neon Trees’ debut mix up the decades, combining for a fast-paced dance party reminiscent of The Strokes and Depeche Mode.

It will be all “Love,” all the time for Tom DeLonge’s Angels & Airwaves this year.

Though nearly a year has passed since Blink-182 announced its reunion, the wait for the trio’s next album is not over.
When Panic! at the Disco wrote “New Perspective,” the band had no idea it’d wind up on the soundtrack for the Diablo Cody-penned horror flick Jennifer’s Body starring Megan Fox. “I had this really lucid dream – it was so vivid I wanted to write it down before I forgot about it,” lead singer Brendon Urie told Rolling Stone. “I was never the best at explaining anything, so it wound up being random [lines] that ended up as the first verse.” Urie and drummer Spencer Smith – the remains of Panic after the quartet split in two earlier this summer… Read more »
After struggling through a concert in Hartford, Conn. Saturday night, Blink-182 has cancelled its Monday night show in upstate New York. “Due to circumstances surrounding the unfortunate and untimely passing of our dear friend Adam ‘DJ AM’ Goldstein, Blink-182 will not be playing tonight in Saratoga, NY at SPAC. Performances by Weezer, Taking Back Sunday and Chester French will take place as planned, along with some special surprises. Travis Barker finally unveiled the full version of his much-hyped, gravity-defying, head-spinning drum solo Tuesday night during Blink-182’s show at General Motors Place in Vancouver, British Columbia. A week earlier, during a “friends only” warm-up gig at the Forum in Los Angeles, Barker had done the routine – which features his drum riser levitating, swinging from side to side and turning upside down – and shaky camera-phone footage of the stunt quickly began to make the rounds. During Blink’s first two shows in Las Vegas, Barker did a stripped-down version of the solo, as the venue was too small for… Read more »
Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz are keeping their mouths shut for gay marriage. The couple are the latest celebs to take part in NOH8, a campaign supporting efforts to overturn Proposition 8. They were shot by photographer Adam Bouska on Monday with the campaign’s signature look: “NOH8” painted on their cheeks and duct tape over their mouths as a symbol of the pro-gay voices not being heard. Ashlee also holds a wedding veil in the pic. Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus also posed for NOH8 Like the Wentzes, Hoppus took part in the big Hollywood rally and protest shortly after the California… Read more »
After reuniting for its first show in more than four years, Blink-182 has announced its summer tour dates. The band’s official return comes when they play the The Late Show With Jay Leno on Tuesday, May 21st. Blink will be joined by Fall Out Boy on the road for two-thirds of their reunion jaunt, with Weezer picking up the remaining dates. Last Thursday evening, Blink-182 closed out their set with 2003’s “The Feeling” and Dude Ranch’s “Dammit.” Bassist Mark Hoppus was overjoyed following the performance, a hugely significant event for the band whose members had spent the last four years… Read more »
HOLLYWOOD – It had been four and a half years since Blink-182 performed together on a stage. A December 2004 gig in Dublin, Ireland was the last time, to be exact. Well, now it’s been not even a week. Last Thursday night, the reunited Blink returned to the stage at a T-Mobile party at the Paramount Studios, ripping through a surprise three-song set before an audience of stunned (and thoroughly hyperventilating) guests. Blink tore through “The Rock Show,” “Feeling This” and “Dammit,” showing no signs of rust or any ill effects of their sometimes contentious breakup as they laughed, struck… Read more »
