This month, idobi is celebrating our awesome fans—you guys! But our staff writers have been known to embrace their inner super-fangirl from time to time, too. Whether it’s defacing public places with lyrics or dropping everything to fly to another country to see a favorite band play, we’ve all been superfans in our own way. In the spirit of Fanuary, we’ve decided to share a few times we let our music fandom shine.
Manchester’s The 1975 aren’t known for common sounds, but on their latest release I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it they take that to another level. Employing a myriad of genres should make for chaos, but their shared dreamy indie-electronic undertones give the album a united front. Maybe it’s a mess, but it’s a well done one.
Music and Gaming. What more could you want on a chilly February weekend? Well it turns out there was all that and more to the annual MAGfest held at the Gaylord Convention Center just outside Washington, DC on February 18-21st.
It’s a crazy time to be a young rock ’n’ roll band, especially a band like Arc & Stones. We fall in the No Man’s Land of music that you either love, hate or don’t get.
This week on In Frequency, Eleanor Grace is joined by Bryce Avary of The Rocket Summer for a deep dive into his long-awaited new album Zoetic.
This record makes you feel, whether it’s excited, in love, in-your-face-let’s-crash-an-upscale-restaurant angsty, or a little bit emo—which are all the ingredients that make up a classic SP album.
Pinpointing the exact moment when you go from 100 fans to 10,000 fans, to 100,000 fans is a pretty daunting task, if not impossible. Even when progression takes years, hindsight makes huge moments feel like they happened overnight.
Valentine’s Day may be over, but we’re not done showing you the love. Starting February 15th, idobi Radio is kicking off our first annual Fanuary, two weeks dedicated to our favorite people in the world: you!
You’ll catch both Ryan Scott Graham stage right for State Champs, and center stage for Speak Low If You Speak Love.
