We are bringing you our WEEK 7 installment of FAR BEYOND FOOTBALL from the Western Canada leg of the CRUSH EM’ ALL TOUR. Tomorrow will be our final show in Canada for the run, and we are extremely happy about how all the Canadian shows have been so far. If anyone in attendance had doubts about the recently reformed Taking Back Sunday, they were certainly put to rest on October 11 in Des Moines, Iowa. Let’s hope that Taking Back Sunday stays this way for a long, long time.

Last week, idobi contributor Ashley Holman had the opportunity to speak with three of the four members of Permanent Ability, a funk- rock band based in Los Angeles, California. Their latest EP, Bring It On!, debuted in 2010 and secured them the title “best band of the week†from rockitoutblog.com.
Mike Ness is the sole remaining original member of Social Distortion, the southern California rockabilly punk band that rose to prominence during the 1980s.
The group turned June Carter Cash’s “Ring of Fire” into a staple of rock radio, and Ness’ hardscrabble youth inspired such hits as “Story of My Life” and “Prison Bound.”
Social Distortion’s first album in more than six years, “Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes,” recently debuted at No. 4 on the U.S. pop chart, the highest ranking in the band’s career. The road warriors will begin a U.S. tour in Albuquerque on Tuesday, and then hit Europe for the summer festivals.

A new Amazon.com Inc service that lets customers store songs and play them on a variety of phones and computers is facing a backlash from the music industry that could ignite a legal battle. Amazon’s Cloud Drive, announced on Tuesday, allows customers to store about 1,000 songs on the company’s Web servers for free instead of their own hard drives and play them over an Internet connection directly from Web browsers and on phones running Google Inc’s Android software.
