When I started touring with the band Kittie, we were often asked about who inspired us to start playing music. Of course, we have a diverse range of influences across both genre and gender spectrum, but what really stood out is that we could name countless women from the 90’s who inspired us. Kim Gordon, Liz Phair, Alanis, Lauryn Hill, Sheryl Crow, Hole, SWV, Bif Naked, Veruca Salt, Eryka Badu (I could go on). I wish I had more bands filled with artists who look like me growing up, but I’m not letting that stop me from being that person for the next generation of creators.
Today we have the Jonas Brothers dropping new tour dates, another sneak peek at Marvel’s Loki, the new trailer for Friends: The Reunion, Jenna Ortega cast in the new Tim Burton animated series, and Warner Bros. new animated series for Batman and Superman.
The Nerds have a billboard in LA and are super stoked about it! We also talk about the United States of Cannabis and cover the news that rocked the industry for a couple days: Canna-Bumps! We have opinions! Check it out and always remember, don’t panic! It’s organic!

When you’re sixteen, you never really look around the room to see if you’re the only Asian person there. It’s not something that occurs to you when you’re so happy to be front row at a show. For me, I was just excited to share a similar interest with other people my age and to be able to talk about bands we enjoyed. I never realized how important it would be to see other people who looked like me on stage and behind the scenes.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, make sure it has a good soundtrack. It’s time to Rise Rock n’ Shine with Run River North, BRIDEAR, AUDREY NUNA, and Audrey Mika.
