It’s that time of year again where we’re faced with the near-impossible task of choosing our favorite releases from another stellar twelve months of music. After even more complicated math and science than last year, we’ve finally arrived at our top ten records of 2014—find out what made the list and why we fell in love with them!
Periphery has announced the release of a set of albums titled Juggernaut: Alpha, and Juggernaut: Omega. A new song from the collection, titled “The Scourge”, was premiered today. Check it out below, and pick up the dual albums when they hit shelves on January 27th.
It seemed especially difficult to commit to our selection of top albums this year, but after laboring over it for what might be considered an unreasonable amount of time, we were finally able to narrow it down. Check out our top 10 albums of 2013!

Michael Jackson fans paid tribute to the King of Pop the best way they knew how last week: by buying his music. In the first full week following the death of Jackson at age 50, and with retailers fully prepared for the onslaught of buyers, the fallen pop idol sold an astonishing 800,000 solo albums, dominating the charts in a way not seen since his heyday in the early 1980s. A pair of the biggest bands in rock, Radiohead and R.E.M., hit the studio recently to begin work on their next albums. While both groups are in the beginning stages of writing and recording, they offered up some early details in a series of interviews. Radiohead have reconvened with longtime producer Nigel Godrich to start work on the follow-up of 2007’s In Rainbows.
