Boys Like Girls are once again dazzling their fans with their new single, “Language.” Released via Fearless Records, the track is an 80s-infused pop-rock banger about the power of non-verbal communication. Whether it’s a simple hug or a playful smile, the song invites its fans to think about the ways they express themselves and their longings without words. Martin Johnson explains the inspiration behind “Language” in a press release. “According to Google, there are around 6,500 languages in the world,” he begins. “I took French, Spanish, and Latin in school, but can barely get through asking where the toilet is… Read more »

Beloved emo rock icons Say Anything emerged from hiatus last Friday for their first show in nearly five years. Frontman Max Bemis and the refreshed lineup dug in for a sold-out, four night run at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom with a line of fans camped out in the rain on Delancey Street waiting for doors to open. Say Anything has always featured a revolving door of musicians surrounding founding members Max Bemis… Read more »
Say Anything are back together and have released a brand new track, “Psyche!” Today. They are a band that have always done things differently than everyone else. They stuck out like a sore thumb in the scene since their inception in a beautifully unique and transparently broken way. Max Bemis is a genius to say the least and you won’t find another project quite like his. Hell, their first full-length album, …Is A Real Boy, was intended to be a performative musical that transformed into a two-part melodic odyssey. With spoken word interludes, triumphant and drastic sonic changes within each… Read more »

In a lengthy but in-depth letter on the Say Anything website, lead singer Max Bemis (and one of my favorite humans I’ve ever had the pleasure to interact with and just speak to… the dude is a genius and f’n rules) said that “this era” of Say Anything is over. “Our plans… Read more »
