Eloy Casagrande just got a major promotion. The Brazilian drummer best known for his work in Sepultura was officially named the new member of Slipknot on April 30. But how did this come to be? In a recently translated interview with VEJA São Paulo, Casagrande shared his journey to become a part of metal’s most iconic outfit. Foo Fighters to Fill Guns' Rock in Rio Slot


The Foo Fighters will replace Guns N’ Roses in the May 30 headlining slot at the Rock in Rio festival in Lisbon. Guns N’ Roses last month pulled out of its planned performance at the event, citing the departure of guitarist Buckethead. The performance would have made GNR the first act to perform three times at the festival. Buckethead is already in the midst of a solo tour opening for Particle. Horror Rock Fills 'Freddy Vs. Jason' Soundtrack


Two of the biggest slasher-film icons of the ’80s are finally set to meet, as the nightmare pairing of “Freddy Vs. Jason” hits U.S. theaters Aug. 15. Destiny’s Child’s Kelly Rowland will star in the film, but the soundtrack to the flick, due Aug. 5 via Roadrunner, will be chock full of hard-edged rock.
