This week we chinwag about Jess searching for her new apartment in LA. Afterward we chat with Valerie Morehouse, vocal coach for artists such as Sia, Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, 5SOS, Brendon Urie, our very own Bowie Jane, and more.
Valerie’s journey started about twenty years ago, when she was diagnosed with debilitating nodules on her vocal cords. Having sung all her life, the idea of not being able to sing again was not an option. She devoted herself to finding out what causes nodules and how to get rid of and prevent them. Along the way, she worked with top laryngologists and speech therapists and found a passion for helping others overcome or prevent similar setbacks. She also prepares actors’ voices for stage, television, and film, including Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water), Tom Ellis (Lucifer), the cast of Nashville (ABC & CMT), and FOX sportscaster Joe Buck. Valerie also has her own podcast, LipRoll, which features conversations with her clients giving us an inside look at the industry.
This week on Geek Girl Riot we get into the mess of this year’s Golden Globes, before turning up the love for Raya and the Last Dragon, Us Again, and Boogie.
On a brand new episode of The Rockstar Dad Show, Jaret and Gary invite Fred Mascherino to the mic. You might know him from Taking Back Sunday or his solo work as The Color Fred—but did you know he’s a rockstar dad too?
After his son was born right before he had to play a show, Fred has learned a lot about balancing family life and a music career. He chats with the guys about joining Taking Back Sunday and how his family led to that decision, adjusting to touring while having kids at home, and leaving the band years later.
Thomas Ian Nicholas was in all your favorite movies growing up and now he’s headed to The Gunz Show in a brand new episode!
When the actor and musician calls into the show, he tells Gunz about his new film Adverse. The flick hits theaters on February 12th, and the two chat about scheduling a movie release in the midst of COVID-19.
During the conversation, they’ll also chat about his new song “Home Life”, his Sunday Funday Livestream events, creating fan memorabilia and more. Don’t miss it!
