New Found Glory, Coheed, Bad Religion Lead Warped Pack

When an event has been around for 13 years, it’s usually time to shake things up. And while Ozzfest chose to do that by going free, the Vans Warped tour opted to piece together one of its most diverse rosters to date. The tour, which will kick off June 28 at Chula Vista, California’s Coors Amphitheater, is currently slated to play 45 shows through an August 25 date in Los Angeles with a lineup that includes Coheed and Cambria, Bad Religion, New Found Glory, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Cute Is What We Aim For, Bayside and Canadian rapper K-os. New Found Glory Ready To Roll On 49-City Marathon Tour

New Found Glory are breaking up the monotony of touring… with more touring. Having already spent the majority of 2004 playing radio festivals, the Warped Tour and club dates in North America, Europe and Australia (not to mention the arenas they graced as an opener on Green Day’s tour), NFG decided that it was time that they had a headlining tour of their own… you know, since their latest album, Catalyst, came out almost one year ago. “We had really started thinking about doing a headlining tour back in the fall, but then Green Day comes knocking and says, ‘Come… Read more »

Yellowcard About To Meet Their Tour Opener

This summer, Yellowcard’s Ben Harper was looking to sign some new acts to his fledgling label, Takeover Records. There was only one problem: Being the guitar player in a successful rock band does not necessarily afford one the time necessary to check out up-and-coming acts at tiny clubs. So Harper had the bands come to him. And the “Sign My Band” contest was born. “The contest idea came around because we would collect demos from each city we went on Warped Tour, and we didn’t really have any time to follow up with the kids,” Harper said. “So we started… Read more »

Taste Of Chaos – A.K.A. 'Winter Warped' – Lineup Confirmed

For fans of the Warped Tour, the winter months are usually seen as the off-season, a time to buff those Doc Martens or experiment with some Manic Panic variants. But starting in February, the young and spiky will have new reason to rejoice: the Taste of Chaos Tour. Warped founder Kevin Lyman is the mastermind behind the tour, and he’s confirmed both the lineup and the dates for the inaugural jaunt. As previously reported, the Used are locked in to headline, but the rest of the bill has been confirmed, and it’s a harder-edged lineup than Warped fans might be… Read more »

New Found Glory Call Tour With Green Day 'A Dream Come True'

On one hand, New Found Glory aren’t really learning anything while on tour with Green Day. “We know all the songs in their set,” guitarist Steve Klein said. “There aren’t many bands where I know every single song from every single CD.” But on the other hand, touring with three guys who are both your mentors and your favorite musicians does have its upside. “Green Day are a band that all of us look up to for what they’ve done and what they stand for,” drummer Cyrus Bolooki said. “They are like the pioneers of our kind of music.” New… Read more »

Summer Tours Slumping

A month after promoters declared the concert industry healthier than ever, big summer tours such as Ozzfest, Fleetwood Mac, the Dead and Lollapalooza have run into a concrete wall of slow sales. “Ticket sales are mixed, and in some cases they appear to be substantially off from the past,” says Alex Hodges, executive vice president of House of Blues Concerts, one of the three major U.S. promotion companies. The summer’s success stories so far are big-buzz superstar events such as Prince and Madonna, plus low-cost packages including the long-running Warped Tour, Alanis Morissette/Barenaked Ladies and No Doubt/Blink-182. Also, the three-day… Read more »

Boston Warped Dates In Trouble

The board of selectmen in Foxboro has pulled the plug on the Warped Tour alternative rock fest at Gillette Stadium, even though tickets have already gone on sale for the two-day show. Citing noise, safety and other concerns, the Foxboro Board of Selectmen on Tuesday turned down a license request for the Aug. 19 and 20 concert proposed for a parking lot outside the stadium. The decision was the first time in more than 20 years that selectmen had turned down a license for a concert at the stadium, Town Administrator Andrew Gala told the Sun Chronicle of Attleboro.
