The Weeknd Sets New World Record


The numbers are in, and The Weeknd has set a new record. The Guinness Book of World Records has named him the Most Popular Artist in the World. This title is based on what’s been happening over on Spotify. He is the first artist to ever hit 100 million listeners in a month, and that number has already grown to 111 million. As of now, he is seemingly untouchable. The runner-up, Miley Cyrus, has 82.4 million listeners a month. Festival D’été de Quebec Announces Line-Up


Five stages, over 200 incredible artists, and a beautiful and historic venue. That’s the foundation of what you can find at the Festival D’été de Quebec in Quebec city this summer. The festival has been running for 55 years and offers a lineup to suit everyone’s taste. boygenius Surprises Austin


boygenius made sure that people flying in and out of Austin would miss South by Southwest. The trio of artists gave a secret pop up show for SXSW at the Austin Airport over at the baggage claim. Lucy Dacus, Phoebe Bridgers, and Julien Baker will release their album, the record, at the end of this month. Their airport set list included singles that they’ve already dropped from the album. The Austin Airport tweeted a video of the event that can be seen below! We’re just waiting for something cool like this to happen to us.

March is Women’s History Month, hot on the heels of Black History Month. It should go without saying how important it is to take the time to highlight the invaluable contributions women have made to society and culture. It’s also true that, if I’m doing my job as an entertainment journalist properly, then I’m constantly and consistently highlighting the amazing art created by women and people of color (and oftentimes females of color), whatever month it is.
