When Panic! at the Disco wrote “New Perspective,” the band had no idea it’d wind up on the soundtrack for the Diablo Cody-penned horror flick Jennifer’s Body starring Megan Fox. “I had this really lucid dream – it was so vivid I wanted to write it down before I forgot about it,” lead singer Brendon Urie told Rolling Stone. “I was never the best at explaining anything, so it wound up being random [lines] that ended up as the first verse.” Urie and drummer Spencer Smith – the remains of Panic after the quartet split in two earlier this summer… Read more »
Mariah Carey told “Today” and her Twitter followers that she thought she “let everybody down” when her voice cracked when she sang “I’ll Be There” at Michael Jackson’s memorial. CHARLOTTE, N.C. –Wading back into the Democratic presidential race, billionaire businessman Bob Johnson said Monday that Sen. Barack Obama would not be his party’s leading candidate if he were white. Johnson’s comments to the Charlotte Observer echoed those of former vice presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro. She stepped down as an adviser to Sen. Hillary Clinton last month after saying Obama wouldn’t be where he is if he were white. “What I believe Geraldine Ferraro meant is that if you take a freshman senator from Illinois called ‘Jerry Smith’ and he says I’m going to run for president, would he start… Read more »
