The Alternative Press Music Awards are back for 2015!


After last year’s majorly successful AP Music Awards, Alternative Press have announced that this year’s awards will take place on July 22, 2015 at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, OH. This year, the hosts are idobi’s own Full Frontal radio hosts, Alex Gaskarth and Jack Barakat!

Dave Clark Five singer Smith dies at age 64


Mike Smith, the lead singer of the 1960s British band the Dave Clark Five, died on Thursday of pneumonia at an English hospital, his U.S. agent said. Smith, 64, was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday morning with a chest infection resulting from complications of a 2003 spinal cord injury that had left him paralyzed from the waist down, his New York agent, Margo Lewis, said in a statement. Ike Turner dies at 76


Ike Turner, whose role as one of rock’s critical architects was overshadowed by his ogrelike image as the man who brutally abused former wife Tina Turner, died Wednesday at his home in suburban San Diego. He was 76. Turner died at his San Marcos home, Scott M. Hanover of Thrill Entertainment Group, which managed Turner’s career, told There was no immediate word on the cause of death, which was first reported by celebrity Web site TMZ.com. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers have been tapped to headline the Super Bowl XLII Halftime Show Feb. 3 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Springsteen gives fans preview of tour


Bruce Springsteen was back in familiar territory with a rehearsal show Monday night in the city that has become known worldwide through his songs. The show at the oceanfront Convention Hall was the first of two benefit rehearsals for Springsteen and the E Street Band, who are about to embark on their first tour together in four years. They will also play Tuesday night, and a third rehearsal concert has been added for Friday at Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford. Chrissie Hynde sings at Ohio benefit


Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Chrissie Hynde and Jerry Lee Lewis performed at a concert to benefit a local theater and celebrate the upcoming opening of Hynde’s vegetarian restaurant. Hynde, an Akron native and the lead singer of The Pretenders, presided over a weekend-long celebration of VegiTerranean, her eatery that will feature a blend of Mediterranean and vegetarian cuisine when it opens here in October. The events started with a Friday night acoustic performance, continued Saturday afternoon with the restaurant’s ribbon-cutting ceremony and ended Saturday night with the concert.
