Steel Train Wrap Up New LP, Confirm Format Tour


Drive-Thru Records is proud to announce New York quintet, Steel Train, are currently finishing up work on their ambitious sophomore album. Set for an October 2007 release, the still untitled album is being produced by Mark Trombino (Rilo Kiley, Jimmy Eat World). Throat Infection Sidelines Silverchair


Silverchair has postponed four shows on their current U.S. Tour to allow singer, Daniel Johns to recover fully from a case of laryngitis.  Daniel caught the common viral infection of the throat earlier this week after flying Sydney/Los Angeles/Toronto/New York/Los Angeles over just four days. It severely impeded his vocal performance on the “Tonight Show With Jay Leno” on Tuesday. Fall Out Boy, Paul Wall All Smiles; Civic Tour Under Way


Fall Out Boy’s headlining stint on this year’s Honda Civic Tour had a rough beginning last month. In fact, the trek didn’t start at all. Crowded House beginning U.S. tour in August


Reunited rock trio Crowded House will tour North America for the first time in more than 10 years, beginning August 4 in Northampton, Mass. The tour runs through mid-September and includes a previously announced appearance at Seattle’s annual Bumbershoot festival on September 1. The tour will promote the Neil Finn-led band’s forthcoming album “Time on Earth,” to be released July 10 via Dave Matthews’ ATO label. The group, with new drummer Matt Sherrod subbing for the late Paul Hester, played the Coachella festival in southern California last month. Muse, MCR Tour Still Hit by Illness


Muse’s big U.S. arena tour with My Chemical Romance has hit another buffer, with a third show cancelled for this weekend. Both bands and their support crew became ‘violently ill’ following a bout of suspected foot poisoning in Virgina following a show on April 29th, which led to two shows being pulled in Pennsylvania and Ohio. MxPx Returns to Tooth & Nail for New Album


Contributions from members of Bad Religion, Sugarcult and Aaron Sprinkle enhance pop-punk troupe MxPx’s upcoming album, “Secret Weapon,” due July 17 via Tooth & Nail. The album, the trio’s eighth studio set, marks the first time the group has tapped veteran producer Sprinkle to helm the decks since its 1994 debut “Pokinatcha.” It is also a return to Tooth & Nail following MxPx’s 2000 departure for A&M.
