Hawthorne Heights – Hope: Album Review


Back in 2011, Hawthorne Heights announced plans to self-release a trilogy of EP’s after parting ways with Wind-up Records. Now, the band have followed up with the second release of the trilogy, Hope, a softer compilation with a greater emotional spectrum than the first chapter.

Hawthorne Heights announce summer tour


Ohio’s Hawthorne Heights will be headlining the Summer Of Hope Tour starting June 1st. The band have also announced a June 5th release date for Hope, the follow-up to 2011’s Hate, and the 2nd in the band’s planned trilogy of EP’s.

Casey Calvert, Guitarist for Hawthorne Heights, Dead at 26


Casey Calvert, guitarist for post punk/ rock band Hawthorne Heights, was found dead early Saturday morning. Calvert was 26-years-old. According to several accounts Calvert appeared healthy on Friday night while spending time with friends before going to sleep for the night. Those same reports indicated that Calvert passed away at some point while sleeping. Legal Problem Delays Hawthorne Heights Album


Hawthorne Heights have written two dozen songs and have a producer ready to hit the studio to start recording them, but the Dayton, Ohio band have to get out of legal limbo before they can move forward. The emo/punk quintet have done some pre-production work for their third album with producer Howard Benson (Daughtry, Hoobastank) and are hoping to start more extensive work on the tracks as soon as they can, but they’re still entangled in a legal battle with Victory Records. Hawthorne Heights Wins Partial Legal Victory


A federal judge in Chicago handed Hawthorne Heights a partial victory over Victory Records yesterday (March 5). Judge James Moran held that Victory does not hold exclusive rights for the band’s recording services. Simply put, it means the band can record for any label. Band members Eron Bucciarelli-Tieger, Casey Calvert, Micah Carli, Matt Ridenour and JT Woodruff sued Victory and label head Tony Brummel last August. They claimed that Brummel’s “tactics” and “scheming” severely damaged the band’s reputation and its relationship with fans.
