The trailer for the live action version of Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá’s The Umbrella Academy has arrived and it’s shaping up to be the stuff of legends.
Why are Gerard Way, Bombay Bicycle Club, and Foster The People all in NYC this week? For the CMJ Music Marathon of course, and you should be here too! There’s nothing like the thrill of discovering a new favorite band, and with over 1,400 artists playing more than 300 showcases at 80+ venues throughout the city, CMJ surely has one for you. The music marathon welcomes veterans like Cold War Kids, newcomers like Zella Day, International acts including the famous Japanese all girl punk band Shonen Knife and countless up and coming artists all hoping to be discovered. These acts are brought together for five days of music and featured speakers from the industry. For each day, idobi Radio will be bring you the CMJ “Four Playâ€: four can’t miss events for each day of CMJ.

There’s something strange about Gerard Way up there in the spotlight, something new. It’s not just that the My Chemical Romance frontman has traded his usual elaborately layered stage outfits for snug black jeans and a shredded black T-shirt, revealing a torso that’s gone from chubby to Bowie-in-Berlin gaunt. It’s not just that he’s dyed his once-dark chin-length hair a crazed-clown red — a look that Way, 33, also rocked in his pre-fame teenage years, inspired by Kurt Cobain and Wayne Coyne.
On November 22, My Chemical Romance will return with their supercharged new album, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, and if they seem rather invigorated this time out — what with frontman Gerard Way’s radioactive-red dye job and their newfound affinity for Trans Ams and DayGlo leather jackets — well, they owe it all to one song: the hyperkinetic first single, “Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na).”
We hope you have your Eggo waffles and Surfer Boy Pizzas, because it’s time to watch the final installment of Stranger Things, beginning on November 26, only on Netflix. Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, Max, and more will appear on your screens just in time for Thanksgiving weekend for four episodes.
