The temperature outside the Skyway Theater the night of the Panic! At The Disco’s Minneapolis show was a frigid zero degrees with a wind chill plummeting into the negatives. But that didn’t stop the hardy concertgoers of the Upper Midwest from filing up the venue before the show even started – just in time for Brooklyn’s X Ambassadors and California’s The Colourist to ignite the frozen winter evening with a fire that didn’t die down until long after Panic!’s headlining set had ended.
Ryan Ross may be the singer of a new band on an indie label, but the 23-year-old is hardly a music industry neophyte. The leader of five-piece rock outfit the Young Veins still spends a lot of time fielding questions about his former band, Panic! at the Disco.
When Panic! at the Disco wrote “New Perspective,” the band had no idea it’d wind up on the soundtrack for the Diablo Cody-penned horror flick Jennifer’s Body starring Megan Fox. “I had this really lucid dream – it was so vivid I wanted to write it down before I forgot about it,” lead singer Brendon Urie told Rolling Stone. “I was never the best at explaining anything, so it wound up being random [lines] that ended up as the first verse.” Urie and drummer Spencer Smith – the remains of Panic after the quartet split in two earlier this summer… Read more »
