Taking Back Sunday, MCR Unite For Tsunami Benefit

SAYREVILLE, New Jersey – This small Jersey ‘burb is pretty far removed from Banda Aceh or Phuket (and even though it’s Jon Bon Jovi’s hometown, it’s pretty far removed from Manhattan, too). But on Wednesday night, Sayreville played host to the first in a series of benefit shows dubbed the Concerts for Tsunami Relief. It was a big show for an even bigger cause. The concert – co-sponsored by Linkin Park’s Music for Relief charity and New York radio giant K-Rock – was held at the Starland Ballroom, a very un-ballroom-like venue just off of Sayreville’s winding Jernee Mill Road,… Read more »

Los Angeles – Though the new outing that Vans Warped tour founder Kevin Lyman is launching this February is called Taste of Chaos, the event is moving forward like a well-oiled machine. “To get a second year on this project, we have to have at least 3,000 people per market,” Lyman says. “I think we will do more.” Taste of Chaos will take place at indoor venues and feature such hard rock acts as the Used, My Chemical Romance, Killswitch Engage and Senses Fail. There will also be sponsored booths and activities prior to each show. Major partners include Nintendo,… Read more »

Taste Of Chaos – A.K.A. 'Winter Warped' – Lineup Confirmed

For fans of the Warped Tour, the winter months are usually seen as the off-season, a time to buff those Doc Martens or experiment with some Manic Panic variants. Warped founder Kevin Lyman is the mastermind behind the tour, and he’s confirmed both the lineup and the dates for the inaugural jaunt. As previously reported, the Used are locked in to headline, but the rest of the bill has been confirmed, and it’s a harder-edged lineup than Warped fans might be… Read more »

New Found Glory Keep It Real In The Face Of Success

Given the huge success of 2002’s Sticks and Stones, the members of New Found Glory aren’t expecting to top their previous high mark with Catalyst, which drops Tuesday. At the same time, they’re not letting its first single, “All Downhill From Here” dictate their future, either. “I try not to think ahead because I don’t want to jinx anything,” singer Jordan Pundik said. “I just want to let it ride out and see what happens.” Sticks and Stones, NFG’s third and most successful album so far, sold more than 91,000 copies in its first week and entered the Billboard albums… Read more »

The Used Want To Add Ozzfest To Already Packed Itinerary

The taste of ink is sweet these days for the Used, who have signed on for next year’s Vans Warped Tour and will likely ink an agreement soon with another major summer outing. “Ozzfest too, I think. We are crossing our fingers,” joked singer Bert McCracken, who, as Kelly Osbourne’s boyfriend, has a pretty decent foot in the door. McCracken said the Used will tour through October, beginning in January, headlining a West Coast trek with Taking Back Sunday, New Transit Direction and the Blood Brothers. An East Coast stint will follow in February with Finch, the Movielife and My… Read more »
