Grade: C+ Basically: A harsh slice of the truth about being Black in America. In reflecting on the Netflix adaptation of American Son, I’m reminded of a line from A Few Good Men, “you can’t handle the truth.” I’m not being glib. This one is all about hard truths. And by maintaining the four-actor, stormy night, one-room structure of the Broadway play, the film focuses you on its honesty in a way that may be hard to take in. Or, worse, easy to dismiss. Excitement is buzzing after the announcement of the cast for Jurassic World 3: Extinction. As could be expected are Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt from the 2 most recent installments of the Jurassic franchise. Returning from the 1993 masterpiece that started the film series are Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and the glorious Mr Jeff Goldblum –I don’t have a favorite or anything.
