Australian alt-rock band New Empire are slowly yet steadily breaking out internationally. Their résumé already includes a stint on Warped Tour and opening for bands such as Simple Plan and Neon Trees. idobi senior writer Catherine Yi caught up with guitarist Kyle Lane to discuss the new record, signing with a label, and finding success overseas.
To Write Love On Her Arms has announced the lineup for “The Hope Revolution Tour”. Hawthorne Heights and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus will co-headline the shows, with supporting acts New Empire and Famous Last Words.

New York punk outfit Bad Luck. surprised their fans today with their new single, “Turn It Off.” As the opening track of their upcoming EP, Books On Tape, the song opens with aggressive acoustic guitar strums and Dominick Fox’s frantic vocal delivery. This deliciously manic introduction opens up into a full-band arrangement that is just as cathartic and energetic. Music Festival announced its explosive two-day lineup, including Pierce The Veil and The Used headlining on Saturday, June 24, and Sleeping With Sirens, Neck Deep, and Thursday headlining on Sunday, June 25. We all know that Ohio is for lovers, but Hawthorne Heights has set out to prove that it’s not just Ohio. After three editions of the festival hitting emo fans hard in 2022, Hawthorne Heights is bringing the “Is For Lovers Festival” to eight cities in 2023. This year’s event will visit Hawaii, Lake Tahoe, NV; Denver, CO; Manteo, NC; Council Bluffs, IA; Cincinnati, OH; Pelham, TN; and Mansfield, MA.
