Sweet Pill Covers “There, There” By The Wonder Years

In honor of Hopeless Records turning 30 in 2023, Sweet Pill has covered “There, There” by The Wonder Years for the label’s Hopelessly Devoted To You compilation record. The track originally appeared on The Wonder Years’ 2013 full-length, The Greatest Generation, which celebrated its 10 year anniversary last year.

“Our rendition of ‘There, There’ by TWY is out now streaming everywhere, happy 30th birthday @hopelessrecords,” Sweet Pill shares in an Instagram post. “When we were asked to pick a song to cover for this opportunity, doing @thewonderyearsband was a no brainer. We had such an incredible time with them on the road last year – Philly always knows best. we got a little extra cheeky and wrote our own ending to this banger, we’re all very proud of the outcome. Let us know what you think!!!”

Dan Campbell adds, “If my math is right, The Wonder Years have written 108 songs in our time as a band, and “There, There” is probably the only one in the top 3 list for every single member.”

The compilation will also boast The Wonder Years’ covering Thrice’s “Deadbolt,” Point North’s cover of Avenged Sevenfold’s “Unholy Confessions,” Bayside‘s reworking of The Weakerthans’ “Aside,” and more.

On top of releasing the forthcoming Hopelessly Devoted To You, Hopeless Records is also hosting a major party at Cleveland’s Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, and you’re invited! Come celebrate the label’s anniversary on Saturday, August 24, with Waterparks‘ Awsten Knight, Illuminati Hotties, The Wonder Years‘ Dan “Soupy” Campbell, and Scene Queen.
