Motionless In White Drummer Goes On Record, “Do Not Bring [Your Dog] To A Show”

Well, this isn’t a headline you see every day. A fan brought their dog up in the pit during Motionless In White’s set at The Scranton Apocalypse Fest on Saturday, September 16 in Scranton, PA. This unusual scene caught the attention of fellow concertgoers and the band’s drummer, Vince Mauro. In a statement posted to X (formerly Twitter), Mauro explains his very valid concerns about the dog attending the gig.

“Seeing the dog in the pit at our Scranton show really bummed me out,” Mauro writes. “I wanna go on record to say unless your dog is literally deaf and blind and somehow also loves to be held in the air for 3 hours, do not bring them to a show, headphones or not.”

In response to Motionless In White’s tweet, a fan shared a video of the golden retriever in action. The video shows the pup in the air and over his owner’s shoulders as the band’s intense light show is happening. Fans are screaming, singing, and petting the dog as the concert continues. Meanwhile, the expression on the retriever’s face comes across as overstimulated and miserable. Fans continue to respond to the video on social media and remain concerned about the dog’s wellbeing.

“I heard people buy special headphones for them, but honestly, it is just so cruel to take them to those events, they can easily get hurt,” one fan says

“I have trouble believing those headphones do anything at all for a dog,” Mauro responds. “Leave your pet at home or don’t go to the show in my humble opinion.”

Motionless In White is currently on tour through the end of October. Kicking things off in the Midwest and making their way to the West Coast, the band will play for fans in major cities nationwide before finishing the run on October 29 in Boston, MA. While their hometown gig in Scranton, PA received significant attention due to the canine concerns, the band is excited to continue ripping gigs to support the deluxe version of their album, Scoring The End Of The World. Dropping the record on September 8, Motionless In White celebrated the deluxe collection with a new music video for “Sign Of Life.”

In an Instagram post, the band thanked their collaborators for being a part of such a special project.

“It was beyond a pleasure to once again work with director @jensennoen and producer @phoenixvaughn on another music video. No one else is doing it like they are, and it was an honor to see them and their amazing team perform their magic again.”
