A new heavy music era is upon us with the brand-new duo BloodMagic, comprised of actor and heavy music lover Jamie Campbell Bower and drummer extraordinaire Kyle Adams. After teasing a new project earlier this week on socials, the act has officially unleashed their debut, “Death / Rebirth.”

The Stranger Things and Twilight actor is not new to the world of heavy rock. For those unfamiliar, the star used to front U.K.-based quintet COUNTERFEIT. alongside his brother Sam from 2015 to 2020. They launched myriad industrial-tinged hits, including “The New Insane” and “11:44.”

Now, BloodMagic sees Bower and Adams delve into the supercharged, thrashing metal with all the riffs, leather bondage visuals, and heart-pounding rhythms a lifelong genre fan could want. The song first pulls listeners in with a slow, haunting ballad underscored by simple electric strums. Needless to say, our eyes will be locked on what BloodMagic has in store. Check out the full “Death / Rebirth” video below.

“Death / Rebirth” Lyrics:

No thoughts take me away no lies don’t let me stray
And I’ll find my god away and I’ll try and I’ll try
No thoughts God let me stay and no eyes no eyes can lay
Upon this holy grave and no lies and no lies

If I fall in line then I feel the pain coming
To fall apart to let go of all image
And I feel the dark
Now let me wade in it
No sabotage
No sabotage

Tell me why
We fall in line
And it just burns
Urgh

If I must die then I must die growing
To be reborn
To be reborn knowing
I pushed the veil
Back into dark again
Now let me in
Oh, let me in

Hush little baby
Don’t you cry
Mumma’s gonna buy you
A brand new tie
Hush little baby
Don’t you cry

If this is the end
I’m not running
I’m not running

If I must die then I must die growing
To be reborn
To be reborn knowing
I pushed the veil
Back into dark again
Now let me in
Oh, let me in
