BLACKGOLD have spent the last year bringing nu-metal crashing into the modern day in the most fun and furious way possible. Mysterious, mischievous and fuelled by mayhem, their journey so far has seen them become viral sensations on TikTok and be hand-selected to support Limp Bizkit in the UK and Europe.
And with tracks like “Villain” at their disposal, you can see just why they have blown up in such a way. A silky smooth and sensationally catchy piece of rap-rock brilliance, that flips between sinister and silly, it’s a total banger and one that is ready-made for the biggest of stages.
Vocalist Spookz had this to say about it:
“To villainize someone is to make them out to be the bad guy. This implies that they aren’t necessarily as bad as they’re being described. No matter how hard you try, you’ll always be the Villain in someone’s story.”
The song is set to appear on BLACKGOLD’s new EP Volume 2, which will be released on May 5th.
It will also feature “On Another Level”:
And “Boogeyman”:
