5 dead in Indiana State Fair stage collapse


The death toll has risen to five in the stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair in which 45 people were also injured.

The main stage collapsed on a crowd waiting for a Sugarland performance Saturday night at the Indianapolis fair after being blasted by winds as strong as 60 to 70 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

Quiet Riot singer found dead in Las Vegas


Kevin DuBrow, lead singer of the popular 1980s U.S. heavy metal band Quiet Riot, has been found dead from unknown causes at his home in Las Vegas, authorities said on Monday. The body of DuBrow, 52, was discovered on Sunday afternoon, a spokeswoman for the Clark County Coroner’s Office said. An autopsy conducted on Monday was inconclusive and more forensic tests were scheduled to establish a cause of death, she said. Owner of "8 Mile" Studio Found Dead


The owner of a Detroit studio where Eminem purportedly cut his best-selling debut album, The Slim Shady LP, was found dead Tuesday, the victim of an apparent vendetta, according to local authorities. A business acquaintance discovered the body of Amjed A. Abdallah lying in a pool his own blood on the floor of Studio 8. Investigators said the 36-year-old Jordanian engineer was shot at least twice, most likely on Sunday, based on the bloated condition of the corpse. Phish Fans Stream Out After Final Show, Unidentified Fan Found Dead


Phish fans were streaming out of the concert site early Monday on their way home, and police reported no major traffic problems. Fans started leaving the band’s two-day festival on Sunday, even before Phish played its last set. More than 60,000 fans attended the band’s farewell concert. Mars Volta Keyboardist Found Dead


The Mars Volta keyboardist Jeremy Michael Ward, also a member of Defacto, has died from an apparent drug overdose, according to Defacto’s record company Gold Standard Labs (GSL).
