Two East Coast emo and pop-punk acts just teamed up for the ultimate collab. New Jersey’s Northvale recruited The Dangerous Summer‘s own AJ Perdomo for their new track, “Already Dead.”

However, this isn’t the only dazzling collaboration that Northvale has recently shared. In August 2024, the group worked alongside palettes‘ Adam Blasi for “Better When I Can.” Both tracks will appear on their upcoming debut album, which is due for release this winter.

Check out the new emo track below with its unique video set inside of a church. “I’m sleeping in on Sunday/Cause I don’t buy what you’re trying to prove/And I’d sell my soul if it meant that I’d get the truth/I’m sick of the constant suffering that’s tied to you,” vocalist Keith Karol sings.

Additionally, Karol shares,”‘Already Dead’ confronts the profound disillusionment with structured belief systems—not just religious faith, but also the societal norms that dictate our lives.

Then, he continues, “At its core, the song explores the liberation from these impositions and the empowerment of steering one’s own fate, encapsulated in the resonant hook, ‘I gotta live like I’m already dead.'”

Finally, Karol notes, “Our collaboration with AJ Perdomo of The Dangerous Summer was almost predestined. Having previously worked with him on ‘High Tide,’ we envisioned his involvement from the early stages of writing. AJ’s unique voice and energy have profoundly enhanced the track, making it a standout piece in our repertoire.”
