Florida church hosts ‘U2charist’ to reach younger audience


Superfans often compare listening to their favorite band to a religious experience. A church in Florida is taking that sentiment to the next level by introducing its congregation to a Sunday service that features the music and lyrics of Bono and Co., reports Twenty Four Bit. The rockin’ First United Methodist Church of Pensacola, Fla. will host the U2charist – a play on the word Eucharist – which includes U2’s “One,” “With or Without You” and the service-opening prayer of “Beautiful Day.” The debut U2charist in Pensacola took place August 23rd at First Methodist. Coldplay responds to copyright lawsuit


Coldplay has fired back against accusations they copied another artist’s work for their hit “Viva La Vida.” In a statement released on Tuesday, the band responded to a copyright infringement lawsuit filed by guitarist Joe Satriani last week in federal court in Los Angeles That lawsuit says the Grammy-nominated song contains “substantial, original portions” of his 2004 song, ” If I Could Fly” “With the greatest possible respect to Joe Satriani we have now unfortunately found it necessary to respond publicly to his allegations,” read the statement. “If there are any similarities between our two pieces of music, they are… Read more »
