Mötley Crüe has kick-started legal action against another former manager. The “Shout at the Devil” purveyors have filed a lawsuit against Burt Stein and his companies B Entertainment and Gold Mountain Entertainment, alleging the companies screwed the band out of large sums of money by putting the manager’s interests ahead of the Crüe. The suit, filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, claims Stein, who also represents one of the individual bandmembers, “stalled and obstructed” talks Mötley Crüe had with various music-industry folk about recording a new album and hitting the road in 2008. A judge says she is troubled that rapper Ja Rule has posted thousands of dollars in bonds for two co-defendants in a gun possession case and she wants them to come up with their own bail packages. State Supreme Court Justice Micki Scherer expressed her concern Wednesday at the indictment arraignment of Ja Rule, Dennis Cherry and Mohamed Gamal on gun possession charges. All pleaded not guilty. Roy Scheider, a one-time boxer whose broken nose and pugnacious acting style made him a star in “The French Connection” and who later uttered one of cinematic history’s most memorable lines in “Jaws,” has died. He was 75. Scheider died Sunday at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences hospital in Little Rock, hospital spokesman David Robinson said. The hospital did not release a cause of death, but Scheider had been treated for multiple myeloma at the hospital’s Myeloma Institute for Research and Therapy for the past two years.
