"Now 8" Dedicated to Aaliyah


The upcoming Now That’s What I Call Music! 8 compilation is being dedicated to the late R&B singer Aaliyah, who died on August 25th in a plane crash in the Bahamas. The twenty-track compilation, due in stores November 20th, will contain “Rock da Boat,” a track from her latest album, Aaliyah, and a portion of the proceeds from Now 8 will be donated to the Aaliyah Memorial Fund. Britney Spears' new album tops U.S. sales chart


Britney Spears’ new album debuted at the top of U.S. sales charts, making her the first female solo act to reach No. 1 with her first three albums, according to statistics released Wednesday. And she’s not even 20 yet. The 19-year-old pop teen queen’s new album “Britney” sold 745,744 copies in the week ended Nov. 11, usurping the sales figure crown from Michael Jackson, the self-proclaimed “King of Pop,” according to SoundScan, which tracks retail music sales. Epic Records today announced the re-launch of EpicRecords.com. The label has forthcoming releases from multi-platinum artists Macy Gray, Incubus, Michael Jackson, and Ozzy Osbourne on tap this fall, and hopes that the revitalized site will aid in the online success of those artists. Biohazard Get Uncivilized


Members of Slipknot, Agnostic Front, Sepultura, Hatebreed, Skarhead and Pete Steele of Type O Negative, Sen-Dog of Cypress Hill, and Phillip Anselmo of Pantera are featured on Biohazard ‘s new album. The metal/hardcore/hip-hop group will release its sixth studio LP, the thirteen-track Uncivilization, September 11th on Sanctuary Records. The band’s lineup currently consists of guitarist/vocalist Billy Graziadei, vocalist/bassist Evan Seinfeld, drummer Danny Schuler and guitarist Leo Curley. Music Fans Possessed By "Devil"


D12, Eminem’s original Detroit rap crew, opened at number one with its debut release, Devil’sNight. The disc was produced by Eminem and prominently features the rhymes of the controversial hip-hopster. D12 (short for the Dirty Dozen) is the first group on Eminem’s Interscope-distributed Shady Records. “We made a pact years ago,” says Eminem. “Whichever one of us gets signed comes back for the rest.” For the week ending Sunday, Devil’s Night sold 371,000 copies, according to SoundScan.
