Lady Gaga ineligible for Best New Artist in 2010


Few new artists in recent years have made an impact on the pop music scene as quickly as Lady Gaga, who won the Best New Artist Video Music Award this September. But her catchy number-one hits and unpredictable performances are not enough to make her eligible for the new artist category at next year’s Grammy awards.

Usher files for divorce from Tameka Foster-Raymond


Usher has reportedly filed for divorce from his wife of less than two years, Tameka Foster-Raymond. The 30-year-old Confessions singer filed the petition in an Atlanta Superior Court, and no details regarding the split were revealed. Usher marred Foster, who was previously his stylist, at a lavish Georgia ceremony in 2007, and the couple had two sons together. Plain White T's '1,2,3,4' goes platinum


“1,2,3,4,” the current hit single from Plain White T’s, has gone platinum, having sold over 1 million digital copies. The song appears on the band’s latest album, Big Bad World, which was recorded with Grammy nominated producer Johnny K and is the follow up to its 2006 major label debut album, Every Second Counts. Pop diva Whitney Houston will release a new album in September, her first in seven years, Arista Records said.
