Album Review: Beach Weather – Pineapple Sunrise

“I don’t know where you begin but it’s where I wanna end” Is there anything better than a beloved band returning after years away and delivering a no-skip album? I don’t think so—and apparently, Beach Weather agrees. Formed in 2015 and releasing two (excellent) EPs before going on hiatus in 2017, Beach Weather—Nick Santino, Reeve Powers, and Sean Silverman—re-emerged in late 2021 and now they’re officially back with their debut full-length, Pineapple Sunrise.  Before we get any further, I have to confess that I’ve been a Nick Santino stan (a Stantino, if you will) since I started listening to his… Read more »

Bring Me The Horizon Gives Us Some Answers

Bring Me The Horizon’s Mat Nicholls has given fans hope that new music is coming. In an interview with Impericon, Nicholls answered questions solo and the topic of new music came up, of course. “New songs coming? Yeah,” the drummer said. “We’re actually working on them at the minute. We’ve got a studio on our bus. You Me At Six was celebrating the end of an album cycle with their largest show to date and as soon as the “Final Night of Sin” was announced, I knew I had to be… Read more »

idobi Family Journal: BIPOC Bands and Where to Find Them

Dear Journal,  It’s that time again: new year, new me! (Yeah, I know I’m super late but I’ve been busy.) Like I’ve done for the past few years, on December 31 I queued up a song on Spotify, ready to hit play as soon as midnight rolled around to make sure I started the year off with the right vibe. This year’s winner? The Maine with “Dirty, Pretty, Beautiful”, naturally.  Obviously, you know I gotta rep my boys in The Maine always. But as I was scrolling through the artists I follow, I started thinking about what was missing from… Read more »
