Rise Against fans, rejoice! The storied Chicago punk rockers have announced their forthcoming fall 2024 tour dates across North America. Rage Against The Machine are being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2023, and that is a very good reason to celebrate.
Sadly, it may be a moment before we receive any substantial news from the members of Rage Against The Machine in regard to their rescheduled European and North American tour dates. After vocalist Zach De la Rocha sustained a leg injury in Chicago during the band’s US reunion tour in July, he persevered through the remainder of the tour performing while seated. In Arista Records v. Launch Media, the RIAA lost its copyright infringement case against a company which provides its users with individualized internet radio stations. The company, Launch Media, is now owned by Yahoo. The US Court of Appeals rejected the RIAA’s argument that the users’ ability to customize the radio stations made them “interactive services” rather than “radio stations”, and affirmed the ruling of the Court below, finding that the internet radio stations in question did not provide copyrighted sound recordings on request, and did not transmit a program specially created for the user. The Alameda County district attorney’s office has dropped charges against a member of the group Saving Abel and an employee of the band accused of forcing a 17-year-old girl to perform oral sex after a concert in Oakland, Calif.Prosecutors and defense attorneys for 33-year-old Jason Null of Corinth, Miss., and 21-year-old Brandon Danger of Tampa, Fla., say a video recording contradicted the girl’s claims.
