Geoff Rickly, of Thursday and United Nations fame, has released his second mixtape Darker Matter. It’s available on a pay-what-you-want basis. He’ll also be embarking on a west coast tour with Vinnie Caruana, and you can check out those dates and a blog about the mixtape by clicking “Read More.”
Disclaimer: Whenever, If Ever is a love/hate record. If you “get it,†you will be completely floored by its use of vast atmospheric textures and timbres, as well as its nostalgia factor. If you don’t, it will be a whiny, fragmented, enigmatic record that will be a struggle to listen to.
