smallpools brings good vibes to their tunes and, as it turns out, to their home too. In the latest Tour de Session, we crashed their apartment to see where they’ve spent quarantine. The band welcomed us with open arms (and their four-legged pals did too). Watch as they show us their studio space, bring us to towel heaven, and throw in a few outfit changes for good measure. Plus, they sit down in the studio to perform their new track “simulation” just for the idobi fam. Hit play below!
Whether you loved or hated Wonder Woman 1984, there were definitely problems and our Rioters take turns breaking down all the different issues.
This year has been filled with challenges and setbacks, but Lauren Sanderson didn’t let any of that stop her from celebrating the release of her debut album, Midwest Kids Can Make It Big in early 2020. Despite the challenges Lauren has stayed focused, creative and inspired. Lauren and I talked a lot about where her determination comes from, how it’s important to honor all sides of yourself and what brings us joy. Lots to learn from this conversation. Hope you enjoy it and share with a friend.

Join me here and in a few years from now, you’ll see why he will become a huge artist.
Curl up and get ready for some steamy erotica recommendations with the latest Geek Girl Riot.
This week we chinwag about the job of sound engineers on tour, and why we feel there are so few females in that position. Afterward, we chat with Memphis native Amanda Davis, FOH (front of house) engineer for Janelle Monáe and Tegan and Sara.
Amanda tells us how she graduated with a BA in Vocal Performance before realizing she didn’t want to sing but wanted to stay in music, so she enrolled in an audio tech program at SAE in Atlanta. She tells us about her first job as an audio engineer working at a church, to then working on a cruise ship, to getting a phone call from Janelle Monáe’s tour and production manager informing her that Monáe wanted a female FOH, and the rest is history. Amanda is also the first call for one of our personal favorite’s, Tegan and Sara. We chat about all of this and more!

Geek Girl Riot had so much fun at Outpost Con over the weekend that we just had to share our live n’ Riotous chat with you! And we’re heading into deep space…
After my first full listen of Whatever, Man—from Kansas City’s BLACKSTARKIDS—I was left asking myself, “Wait… did I like this?”
This one stands up there with the best pop punk albums of this generation.
This week we have a chinwag about “top-lining” in the music industry, and what exactly that entails. Afterwards we speak to Inaya Day, a chart topping house music vocalist, songwriter, and label owner.
She has found much of her success in the dance music scene, having had various number ones on the Billboard charts. We chat about her experience on Broadway, starting her own record label, her song “Keep Pushin” that was recently re-recorded by Dua Lipa for an Adidas campaign, and so much more!
