Warner Bros. Pictures Announces Sneak Previews of ''The Polar Express''


BURBANK, Calif. – Warner Bros. Pictures has announced plans for a special nationwide sneak preview of “The Polar Express” on Saturday, November 6 at 4:00 p.m. The picture will preview in approximately 500 venues and in specially selected IMAX houses in IMAX 3D. The announcement was made today by Dan Fellman, President, Domestic Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures. Even when adopting the most drastic measures, record labels seem helpless to prevent albums from surfacing online before their release dates. So now one label is taking the “if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em” approach. Green Day Readying New Album, Reissues


Pop-punk trio Green Day is working on its first studio album since 2000’s “Warning,” and plans to release it later this year. In an audio message posted to the band’s official Web site (http://www.greenday.com), singer/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong said he was “really excited” about the new set. “It’s really blowing me away… As long as I’m blowing myself away, I’ll continue to.” A Reprise Records spokesperson said no specific date is on the label’s release schedule. “Warning” debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and has sold 994,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. New Neil Young song inspired by doomed passengers


Rock legend Neil Young has written and recorded a song about the passengers who fought back against their Sept. 11 hijackers – a song described by one record company executive “as so chilling you feel like you are on that plane.” The song, a salute to heroism called “Let’s Roll,” was shipped to radio stations this week but will not be sold in stores, Young’s recording company Reprise Records said Wednesday.
