Pop punkers, we are officially old. This week, Blink-182’s Take Off Your Pants and Jacket turned fifteen years old. In honor of its birthday bash, the idobi crew got together to recount our favorite lyrics (and memories) from the monumental album. Check out what we had to say below, and join us in bracing yourself for the album’s Sweet 16 (maybe MTV will revive My Super Sweet Sixteen just to throw it the best celebration ever.) — Blink-182 loves your mom…but your mom most likely wouldn’t love Blink-182. All Photos: Mitch Wojcik “It’s very much everybody’s company… everyone who’s bought a shirt or gone to an All Time Low show, or that’s a part of this in any way… this is as much your company as it is mine because I don’t exist without you guys ya know?” There’s a cheerful “hello” breaking into the ringing of the phone as the ever positive Mark Capicotto, better known as Marky, answers. Yeah, we get it — hating everything your parents love is a rite of passage growing up. But every once in a while, you have to admit when they’ve gotten it right.
Echosmith are young in every sense of the word, but don’t let their age mislead you – Echosmith pack one hell of a punch with their unique blend of pop-rock.
There’s a certain serendipity to Paramore’s opening slot on the upcoming and much-anticipated No Doubt return tour. Fans of the latter might remember the video for “Don’t Speak,” where No Doubt’s three male members look daggers at bejeweled frontwoman Gwen Stefani as they’re cropped out of a magazine shoot. A similar thing might have happened over the last two years to Paramore. The young Tennessee pop-punk quintet vaulted into the charts on the strength of such buoyant singles as “Misery Business,” the “Twilight” soundtrack cut “Decode” and their platinum-selling 2007 sophomore album “Riot!” But Paramore’s ochre-haired spitfire singer, 20-year-old Hayley… Read more »
