California alt rockers I the Mighty rolled through Irving Plaza in New York City on the Misadventures Tour along with Pierce The Veil and Movements last week. Despite being from the other side of the country, the guys in I the Mighty are certainly not strangers to the Big Apple. In fact, it was blatantly obvious during their set that they have carved their own niche in New York. Out of all the acts on the bill, they were the only band to have the crowd going in a giant circle pit throughout their entire set. That in itself is a feat but in addition to that, the band’s ability to connect with people on a more personal level is what ties everything together. I watched as countless kids lined up to speak to Brent (vocals) and Chris (bass) even though Pierce The Veil had already taken the stage. You don’t get to see that every day which is why I the Mighty is a force to be reckoned with and are well on their way to the top.
