DJ AM laid to rest in Los Angeles

Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein was laid to rest yesterday with a service at Los Angeles’ Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary. Reports that AM’s former fiancée Nicole Richie and Good Charlotte’s Joel and Benji Madden attended the burial were said to be “inaccurate.” AM’s girlfriend, Hayley Woods, DJ Jazzy Jeff, actor Scott Caan and producer the Alchemist, who reportedly served as a pallbearer, were present at the service. Blink-182’s Travis Barker, whose band had postponed its most recent tour dates so he could mourn the loss of his friend and collaborator, was also in attendance. Blink-182 return to the stage in Los Angeles

HOLLYWOOD – It had been four and a half years since Blink-182 performed together on a stage. A December 2004 gig in Dublin, Ireland was the last time, to be exact. Well, now it’s been not even a week. Sometimes, being a fish out of water offers a more comprehensive view of the outside world. For the past two years, the Used’s frontman, Bert McCracken, has been living in Los Angeles, and while he hasn’t exactly been enamored with the city of artifice and entertainment, he has found the environment creatively inspiring. “I’ve had a good look at how people think in comparison to almost the whole rest of the world and it’s so ridiculous, it’s given me tons of song ideas,” the Utah native said. “I don’t even feel like a fish out of water here, I feel… Read more »

As 2006 comes to an end, Angels & Airwaves are looking back with a strong sense of pride. (We know, big surprise!) “I think we’ve all made the record of our lives,” singer and resident hype machine Tom DeLonge said, referring to We Don’t Need to Whisper . “It’s been a super-spiritual year for our band and for us personally, and I think we’ve offered something extremely imaginative and futuristic to rock and roll. I also think that I’ve become a good dancer along the way.” “Yeah, and you’ve also perfected the art of making the di– jokes seem really… Read more »
