Beauty School Dropout has released a reimagined version of their single “one night stand you” via Verswire. The original version is off of their latest album, READY TO EAT. Last week, they released a black-and-white music video for the track. Vocalist Colie Hutzler is authentically raw in his delivery. While the original song is more poppy and pointed, the acoustic take illustrates a quiet pain. Listening to either style, the meaning of the overall single doesn’t change. Hutzler explains, “Much like drugs, I believe love (or lust) is a substance that can just as easily be turned into a crutch… Read more »

talker is back with her newest single, “Easygoing.” This is the first taste of what to expect from her anticipated debut album that drops later this year. The music video for it is a slow descent into obsessive, delulu energy that contrasts the catchy, poppy tune. With this latest single, she enters her singer-songwriter, girlie-pop era with hypnotic guitars and soft vocals. Celeste Tauchar, the creative mind behind talker, says that while it’s her favorite piece of music she’s worked on so far, it’s “one of the scariest to release.” It isn’t due to the relaxed tone that counteracts the… Read more »
As A24 Music kicks off their Talking Heads tribute album, Everyone’s Getting Involved: A Tribute to Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense, Paramore has unveiled their cover of “Burning Down The House.” This tribute album, an homage to the Talking Heads’ legacy, shares its namesake with Jonathan Demme’s concert film and the accompanying 1984 album, both capturing the allure of the band’s live performances at Hollywood’s Pantages Theatre over four nights in the winter of 1983. Paramore’s cover is just the first glimpse into the talent featured on Everyone’s Getting Involved. The tribute album boasts contributions from the likes of Blondshell,… Read more »
If you ask us, The Home Team has a lot to “Brag’ about on their infectious new single, arriving via Thriller Records. Following the group’s heady success of their irresistible 2023 single “Loud,” “Brag” is a sugary-sweet, pop-infused, guitar-heavy earworm. From the catchy-as-hell introductory guitar chords to vocalist Brian Butcher’s enthralling delivery, we’re already clearing out space next to “Loud” for this track to live rent-free in our heads. The sheer addictiveness of the track’s pre-chorus, “I’m so sorry, I’ve been naughty/I’ve been keeping secrets/Something you’d know nothin’ about,” begs the question: who gave The Home Team the right to… Read more »

It’s not FELICITY’s “Last Christmas” by any means, as they have released a cover of the Wham! classic just in time for the holidays. The single is out via Zodhiac Records and takes a grittier approach to the jolly, poppy track that the late George Michael put his mark on. Guitarist Drew Rapier says they wanted to put out a cover of their favorite Christmas song as a gift for their fans. “It’s one that we’ve always played acoustically at Christmas parties or for our families. We challenged ourselves to create a version of the song that is unique to… Read more »
Killjoys, make some noise! Action figures of the Danger Days era of My Chemical Romance are out via BrooklynVegan, in partnership with ReAction Figures. The release features the band’s personas in the concept universe: Gerard Way as “Party Poison,” Ray Toro as “Jet Star,” Mikey Way as “Kobra Kid,” and Frank Iero as “Fun Ghoul.” Each comes with a matching ray gun and is sold individually or as a four-pack with prices ranging from $20-$75. The 2010 LP was the act’s final, original full-length album before they disbanded in 2013. The apocalyptic poppy-punk sound was a major departure from the… Read more »
Rain City Drive has reimagined their latest single, “Frozen,” via Thriller Records. The alt-hardcore act originally released the single in September but has given it an almost holiday-edge decoration to it. The first version was featured on Apple Music’s Breaking Hard Rock playlist. Reworking songs isn’t new; however, the band incorporated post-hardcore sounds with poppy beats and melodies in “Frozen (Reimagined)” while sprinkling in some holiday belles, which helps in slowing down the quicker pacing of the original. With softer vocals as well, the song sounds like it could be in an alt-rock version of a Hallmark or Lifetime holiday… Read more »

The dynamic five-piece, fronted by the commanding Ash Costello, continues their momentum by unveiling their latest single, “Secrets.” Accompanying this exciting news is the announcement of their highly anticipated fifth album, Half Black Heart, slated for release on March 1, 2024. Of the group’s forthcoming release, Costello shares, “One of the reasons why Half Black Heart is so special is because we were able to reunite with our original lineup.” “Secrets” emerges as a… Read more »
