T.J. Petracca- Emo Nite

This week I have long time friend T.J. Petracca, one of the co founders of popular club night “Emo Nite.” What makes this episode special to me is we grew up in the same town of Park City, UT experiencing the same things, I had already moved to California when T.J. would be experiencing his love for Emo, and Punk Rock. I hear his story on how he was able to build an empire and how he’s been able to help so many bands get attention throughout the years.

FELICITY & Greyson Zane Created “Emo Trash” On Worst Song Ever

FELICITY and Greyson Zane might just be the most hated pop punk artists on the planet right now. A few weeks ago they shared a clip of their upcoming single, “Emo Trash” on TikTok and the internet went absolutely feral. Why? In the world of emo and alternative rock everyone loves an emotionally charged song that cuts deep. However, sometimes music is just supposed to be fun. There is something special about a goofy, tongue-in-cheek track that isn’t meant to be anything other than a good time. This isn’t a new concept in the genre. Outfits like blink-182, Bowling For… Read more »

Sundressed Unveils Emotional Odyssey On Self-Titled Album

Intricately woven and deeply personal, the self-titled release from Sundressed offers an intimate glimpse into the inner workings of frontman Trevor Hedges‘ creative psyche. This artistic endeavor was first set into motion back in 2012 when Hedges embarked on a musical journey under the moniker Sundressed as a means to navigate his own journey of sobriety. Yet, as the sands of time have shifted, so too has the project’s purpose, morphing into a resonant platform that seeks to address critical matters, particularly within the realm of mental health, all while fostering a profound sense of community among its listeners. The… Read more »

Say Anything Press Vinyl Of Demo Albums For The First Time Ever

Hardcore fans of Say Anything know that before their highly-acclaimed debut album …Is A Real Boy came out in 2005, the band recorded a massive amount of demos and unreleased music. These songs were spread across three projects from the band, Baseball, Junior Varsity EP, and Menorah/Mejora. Before 2013 you couldn’t not find these releases anywhere. Unless, of course, you were one of the lucky ones who had the opportunity to pick up a copy from the band in their early days. Perhaps in a basement, bar, or someone’s living room house show. In 2013, Say Anything released a compilation… Read more »

Emo Styles Ranked: From Shutter Shades to Flannels

It was never a phase. However, which phase are we talking about exactly? Truth be told, the evolution of the emo style had many, many phases. We know we were never the jocks, the preps, or the bookworms. But we certainly had something going on, and it was developing alongside the bands we loved. Sometimes we were in all black, and surprisingly, sometimes, we were in pink and yellow. Beanies may have been really tiny, and other times very baggy and oversized. Emo fashion means something different for everyone. We thought it would be fun to rank the different ways… Read more »

Taking Back Sunday Return With Emotional New Single “The One”

Emo kings, Taking Back Sunday have returned today to give us a brand new single, “The One”. We are thrilled, obviously. The devastating and emotional track shows the band tugging at our heartstring, as well as their own. This new song comes after a batch of newer tracks included on their 20th anniversary reissue of Tell All Your Friends, titled Twenty. Before that, the band hasn’t released new music since their 2016 album, Tidal Wave. Does this mean we will be getting a new full-length soon? We sure as hell hope so.  Speaking on the new song, the band shared:… Read more »
