Indie-rockers HUNNY took over our playlists with the likes of “Homesick” and “Xbox Luvr,” and they’re doing it again with the new track “ring in ur ear” featuring none other than Motion City Soundtrack vocalist Justin Courtney Pierre. Transporting us back to cute yet horrendously awkward high school days, HUNNY performs in an unhinged talent show circa 2003. Painting a lyrical picture of young love, the band will give you all the nostalgic feels you need for a mid-week pick-me-up. Check out the brand-new music video below. Preceded by “big star,” “action → reaction,” “solo” and “89cc,” “ring in ur… Read more »
for someone who always has something to say about everything, i’m having the most difficult time writing something about pride. it could be the fact that the very first pride was a riot and in recent history corporations have taken to adding rainbows to everything as if a rainbow for the month of june will make up for ignoring us the other 11 months out of the year. it could be the fact that sex workers, trans women of color, dykes of all flavors, and kinky queers paved the way for all of us and yet puritans spend their days… Read more »

Legally challenged rocker Courtney Love can put “parent” back on the list of things she sometimes does-right up there with “sing” and “act.” A judge ruled Monday that Love could regain custody of her 12-year-old daughter, Frances Bean, whose father is the late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. “Frances has been returned to [Love] after a judge indicated satisfaction in Ms. Love’s efforts to turn around her life and found it was in the best interests of mother and daughter to be reunited,” Love’s attorney, Howard Weitzman, said in a statement. Frances has not been in Love’s care since her mother’s… Read more »
Courtney Love’s search for a new label is almost over. The rocker is in advanced negotiations to sign with EMI’s Virgin Records, sources said. If the deal is closed, Virgin will release Love’s first solo album since the breakup of her former group, Hole. Sources said the new album includes numerous songs Love co-wrote with Linda Perry of 4 Non Blondes, who also has collaborated with Pink. An EMI spokeswoman declined comment; Love’s manager David Lory was unreachable at press time. Love’s most recent studio album was Hole’s 1998 “Celebrity Skin,” which sold multiplatinum. Since then, she has been embroiled… Read more »
Attorneys for Courtney Love are expected to ask for yet another extension Tuesday in the rock diva’s protracted court dispute with her label, Universal Music Group, in order to continue talks aimed at settling the case. The case was set to go before Los Angeles County Superior Court judge Fumiko Wasserman today, after an extension granted in June expired. Universal claims Love owes its Geffen Records imprint several more records under her contract, while Love counters that the unrealistically long contract terms amount to “indentured servitude” for artists. The suit has been a rallying point for the burgeoning artists’ rights… Read more »
Rocker Courtney Love will get her day in court next month after a Los Angeles judge on Thursday set a June trial for her countersuit against Universal Music, the world’s largest music company, alleging breach of contract and other claims. Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Fumiko Wasserman on Thursday ordered lawyers for Love and Geffen Records, the Universal Music label named in the suit, to first meet on June 10 with a court-assigned mediator, said Barry Cappello, Love’s lawyer, following a half-hour status conference on Thursday. “These parties have not been able to agree that black is black and… Read more »
