Original Beatles digitally remastered, won't be on iTunes


LONDON —  The original Beatles catalog has been digitally remastered for the first time and will go on sale in CD format Sept. 9, the band’s record label and company announced Tuesday. The release will coincide with the launch of “The Beatles : Rock Band” video game, the British quartet’s first major leap into the world of digital music. The dream of many kids learning to play guitar or prancing in front of a mirror with a faux microphone is to play in front of a sold out crowd singing along to their songs and chanting their name; Linkin Park has lived their dreams and then some. Reunited Police to Kick Off Grammy Awards


The Police came one step closer to confirming a reunion tour on Tuesday (January 30) when it was announced that the trio will kick off the February 11 Grammy Awards telecast. The group, led by Sting, has reportedly been rehearsing for a summer tour, and their opening slot at the 49th annual awards show seems to confirm that the announcement of the full-fledged reunion is on. Linkin Park, Jay-Z on 'Course' Together


Multiplatinum acts Jay-Z and Linkin Park are the latest to merge musical forces in a legally sanctioned mash-up. With the help of MTV, the two acts have taken the concept – which intertwines two songs, often placing the vocals of one track atop an instrumental section of another track – one step further. Instead of simply doing a mash-up remix of one track, as other artists have done, Jay-Z and Linkin Park have created an entire CD/DVD project based on the mash-up concept.
