Indie-pop darlings Nation Of Language has released their second single, “Weak In Your Light,” pulled from their freshly announced third full-length album. The trio’s eagerly-anticipated third album, Strange Disciple, will arrive on Sept. 15 via Play It Again Sam. The 10-track album will include “Weak In Your Light” and “Sole Obsession,” which the group unleashed earlier this year. Today De’Wayne took to instagram to announce a string of headline shows surrounding his upcoming tour supporting grandson and K.Flay. It comes as no surprise that De’Wayne would be opening for grandson, as they released a super cool collaborative track, “GOOD MOOD” together last year. The National have dropped their fourth and final single pulled from their forthcoming full-length, First Two Pages of Frankenstein. Their group’s latest single, “Your Mind is Not Your Friend” is an enthralling ballad featuring Phoebe Bridgers and includes an accompanying music video. Through vocalist Matt Berninger’s wistful vocal delivery layered with Bridgers’ delicate whispers, “Your Mind is Not Your Friend” confronts mental health’s entanglements head-on creating an ethereal aura around the track. To celebrate the release, the band have also dropped a music video for their somber yet catchy track “Quarry“. The new album is deeply empathetic, a patchwork of portraits of the American South. After three editions of the festival hitting emo fans hard in 2022, Hawthorne Heights is bringing the “Is For Lovers Festival” to eight cities in 2023. This year’s event will visit Hawaii, Lake Tahoe, NV; Denver, CO; Manteo, NC; Council Bluffs, IA; Cincinnati, OH; Pelham, TN; and Mansfield, MA. Tragedy shook the metal community this past Friday evening when the roof of the Apollo Theatre in Belvidere, IL collapsed during a show. At the time, the venue was hosting Morbid Angel, Revocation, Crypta, and Skeletal Remains for the “United States Tour of Terror.” While the featured acts were between sets, a tornado ripped through the area and consequently, the venue. Following the disaster, more than 40 concert-goers were left injured and one victim tragically passed away.
