Wednesday Release Brand New Album “Rat Saw God”

Wednesday Photographed by Brandon McClain

Wednesday have released their newest full-length album Rat Saw God today via Dead Oceans. To celebrate the release, the band have also dropped a music video for their somber yet catchy track “Quarry“. The new album is deeply empathetic, a patchwork of portraits of the American South. It contains half-funny and half-tragic autobiographical tales of a band from North Carolina drenched in the skuzz of nineties shoe gaze and country twang. Featuring tracks like “Bull Believer” and “Chosen to Deserve“, the album is sure to stick with you. Check out the track list and cover art below.

  1. Hot Grass Smell
  2. Bull Believer
  3. Got Shocked
  4. Formula One
  5. Chosen To Deserve
  6. Bath County
  7. Quarry

Vocalist and primary songwriter, Karly Hartzman, shares: “I wrote this song when I was messing around with a writing exercise I made up. I imagined a street and described it house by house. Some of the houses have fictional characters, but others contain real people I know and their stories,” Hartzman explains. “We filmed this video with Chris Good in a field in Kansas City. It was cold as hell and I did not wear enough layers! I had hand warmers in my boots.” Check out the video below.
