As Rolling Stone first predicted in December 2008, Phish will headline two nights at this year’s Bonnaroo Music Festival, with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band also topping the bill. NEW YORK – A man was shot in the leg Monday night in the lobby of a Manhattan radio station while rapper 50 Cent was making an on-air appearance, police said. According to Newsday, the injured man was a member of 50 Cent’s entourage. The newspaper reported that the shooting happened shortly after 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, announced he was dropping his protege The Game from his hip-hop clique, G-Unit. The tumultuous tour pairing platinum-selling stars R. Kelly and Jay-Z came to an abrupt end Saturday, one day after Kelly walked offstage during a performance and allegedly was blasted with pepper spray by a member of Jay-Z’s entourage. Kelly was booted from shows Saturday and Monday at Madison Square Garden by the promoter, who told the “I Believe I Can Fly” singer that he was banned from the facility, said his publicist, Allan Mayer. Howie Epstein, a former bass player for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, died of what authorities suspect was a drug overdose. He was 47. Investigators were told Epstein had been using heroin, said Maj. Ron Madrid of the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Department. Epstein was driven to St. Vincent Hospital by his girlfriend, who described him as “under distress.” He died Sunday. Epstein had been a respected musician and producer for more than 20 years.
