Jeff Kempler has joined Island Def Jam Music Group as Senior VP business and legal affairs, reporting to chairman and CEO Jim Caparro. Kempler was a partner with the Atlanta-based entertainment law firm Greenberg Traurig LP. Kempler will supervise all aspects of business and legal affairs for Island Def Jam and oversee the recording administration department. At Greenberg Traurig, Kempler represented such artists and producers as LL Cool J, Toni Braxton, George Strait, Desmond Child and Bernie Taupin.
