alt. is finally back with their first new offering of 2024, “Conversations That Hurt” via Resist Records and SharpTone Records. Preceded by 2023’s heavy-hitting, alt-rock debut LP ABEYANCE, the Australian act shows off their vulnerable, softer side on their latest release. “‘Conversations That Hurt’ is about the freshness of a breakup. It’s hard to move on and all you can think about is wanting them back when you know it’s not meant to be,” says vocalist Daniel Cullen-Richards. On the heels of their forthcoming album, ABEYANCE, which is set to drop on June 16 via Resist Records, the Australian five-piece alt. have returned with their brutally crushing new single, “APEP.” The new track, which follows their previously released singles “WRAITH,” “THE GREAT DEPRESSION,” and “A.D.D,” also features Void Of Vision’s frontman Jack Bergin. “APEP”’s explosive opening sequence, featuring a conquering guitar riff and powerful percussion, effortlessly creates a sense of controlled chaos emanating from the group.
