Double Take: Panic! At The Disco vs. Neutral Milk Hotel


Two weeks ago we introduced our new bi-weekly column Double Take, in which we explore the subtle connections between two seemingly-unrelated musical items. For our second installment, idobi writer Marina Oliver looks at the common themes shared between Panic! At The Disco’s mixed-reception sophomore release Pretty. Interview: Koji


In the past few years, Harrisburg, PA’s Koji has become just as well-known for his activism, unrelenting positivity, and the intimacy of his live shows as he has for his recorded music. He just arrived home from an extensive North American co-headliner with labelmates Turnover, and idobi editor Eleanor Grace caught up with him at one of the tour’s final dates to talk about how the past two months on the road have treated him, working with a full band, his thoughts on the scene, and how this tour has seen him reclaim his voice.

The xx – Coexist: Album Review


The xx’s second album Coexist feels a bit like floating aimlessly through space with no propulsion of energy in any particular direction. While some of the songs manage to maintain a simmering sensuality with Romy Madley Croft’s sweet voice delivering honest lyrics and enough repetition to elicit the feelings through heartfelt laments, most of the songs seem to remain unadorned and flat or build up to only thin air and the feeling that you’ve just barely missed out on the point.

He Is We vocalist Rachel Taylor will no longer be able to tour due to medical conditions. She will remain a member of the band and the group will bring in a touring vocalist to be announced shortly.
