Iggy Pop To Release New Album; 'Beat 'Em Up' Due In July

Iggy Pop, the undisputed godfather of punk, is slated to release another blistering sonic assault in July. Entitled “Beat ‘Em Up,” the album is a return to form for the astonishingly ageless Pop, whose last release was 1999’s “Avenue B.” “Beat ‘Em Up,” to be released from Virgin Records America, was produced by Iggy, and engineered by Danny Kader. Joining Iggy are Whitey Kirst (guitar), Alex Kirst (drums), Pete Marshall (guitar) and Lloyd “Mooseman” Roberts (bass). Sadly, Mooseman, formerly of Body Count, was murdered in a drive-by shooting this past winter. Pete Marshall will take over bass duties for Iggy’s… Read more »

Linkin Park Singer Guests On Cyclefly's Next Album

Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington was apparently impressed by the band’s performance when he saw them group live at the Whisky in West Hollywood, Calif., in the summer of 1999 (singer Declan O’Shea’s shockingly bright red hair, pixie body, pale white skin, and piercing vocals make the band impossible to be overlooked live). Bennington kept in contact with the Cork, Ireland-based band, and when the group asked for him to sing on a track for the new album, he gladly obliged. Bennington lends vocals to the song “Karma Killer.” Tales from the Fishbowl, which was produced by Colin Richardson (Fear… Read more »

Loveless Unleashes New Single And We’re “Addicted”

Marking their first new music of 2024 and perfectly timed for Valentine’s Day, Loveless has unleashed their infectious new single, “Addicted.” And yes, yes we are. While the track explores emotional dependency culminating in addiction (“I lie to you again/She said is it gonna be alright?”), the accompanying music video depicts a life of lush luxury reined in by the group’s success. The portrayal sees vocalist/frontman Julian Comeau and multi-instrumentalist Dylan Tirapelli-Jamail indulge in a life of excess after signing away their artistry to a room of execs. Of course, the standout moment of the track is a seemingly subtle… Read more »
